I could not believe it when I found this 1930s evening gown. Tomato red cold process rayon crepe that drapes like a dream and not a hole or stain anywhere. The only issues was that it was missing its original belt. I did a little research and I'm including this simple velvet ribbon belt with a vintage bakelite buckle.
The lines on this are so elegant, the bodice and neckline drape from the padded shoulders in soft pleats that meet at the waist and are mirrored from the waist band down the slim skirt.
Tapered long sleeve that zip at the wrists and are designed to extend down the top of the hand.
Beautifully constructed with pinked seams, metal zippers and shoulder pads made of the same fabric. Side zip closure. No labels. Likely seamstress made.
Size: Medium Measurements: Bust: 42 inches Waist: 30 inches Hips: 44 inches Length: 58 inches from shoulder to hem.
Note that measurements are taken with the garment laid flat: at the underarms across the chest, at the natural waist or waistband (if present), at the widest part of the hips, and from the shoulder or waistband (as appropriate) to the hem.
Best practice is to measure a similar garment that fits the way you like, at the same points for comparison.
